Ways to Get Involved
This group belongs to the members, and
we'd love to see everyone represented in some way. So
here are a few things you could do, please consider
them...
1. Submit an article to
He
Epistole. It doesn't have
to be academic, it can be personal. Or a poem or hymn. Or
a book review. Or a ritual. If you don't write at all,
consider helping to distribute the newsletter in your
area, or pay for a subscription.
2. Participate on the list.
Ask a question. Post a relevant news item, or link to an
interesting website. Discuss your personal religious
practice, your rituals, any struggles you have,
successes, etc.
3. Post your info on the
Members
page. Posting your info
helps create a sense of community, and lets other people
know if there's a member in their area. Send your listing
to info@neokoroi.org.
And if you are listed, check to make sure your info is up
to date.
4. Buy something from the
cafepress
site. We have lots of
stuff with our shiny new logo on it!
5. Print out flyers
and hang them up in your area. If you want, add your
contact info and invite interested people to get in
touch.
6. Post pictures of yourself, your
shrines and/or your rituals/festivals on the
Photos
page. Another way of
creating community, inspiring ideas, etc.
7. Participate in our monthly
chats
on the Noumenias. You can also perform the
Noumenia
ritual
beforehand.
8. Describe any festivals you'll be
celebrating (old or new) beforehand and invite others to
celebrate with you. Discuss afterwards in the chatroom or
on the list.
9. If you have a dedicated shrine or
temple room or outdoor space for the gods, make it public
(at least partly) and list it on the Temenoi
page. Invite others
to come worship there if they're in the area. If you
don't have one of these, consider doing it.
10. If possible, consider forming an
eranos
or thiasos under
Neokoroi.
11. If applicable, consider applying
for exegete
or mantis
status.
12. The next Agon
(contest) will be this March. Start working on a
submission now! And when the entries are up,
vote!
13. Write an article especially for
the Hellenismos
section of the
website, or for any of the gods' pages. Or contribute to
the ongoing Holy
Places Everywhere or
Travel
to Greece
sections.
14. Utilize our exegetai and mantikoi.
Ask a question, seek advice. You can even leave feedback
for them on their profile (by sending it to
info@neokoroi.org)
15. Adopt a god
page. Be responsible for
the content, updating links, even add your own essays or
poetry. And you can always send in contributions for any
of the god pages!
16. Share your ideas for a better
organization. If there's something you'd like to see
changed, or something new you want, speak up!
